He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, he serves as the General Manager of the Water Desalination Technologies Institute at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), where he leads efforts to develop sustainable water desalination technologies, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s water security. With over 23 years of experience in refining, petrochemicals, environmental sustainability, water, and energy, Dr. Aldrees has made significant contributions to scientific research. He has authored more than 22 research articles, holds four patents, and published one book, with a strong focus on advancing sustainable development through scientific innovation.

Shahab holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, following degrees from Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Tehran. His expertise lies in modeling and optimizing water and energy infrastructure, with a focus on short-term operations and long-term investment decision-making under uncertainty. His research integrates renewable energy and explores synergies between water and energy systems, emphasizing technologies that connect the two sectors. He has contributed to multiple national and international projects on both applied and fundamental research initiatives."

Currently serving as the Process Development Manager at Jaeger Envirotech, Mr. Pajooh and his team have developed ShearCon® Process, which enables the transformation of conventional biomass into premium biomass without the use of chemicals. This premium biomass settles significantly faster, exhibits higher nitrification rates and enhances performance of wastewater treatment plants.
