Dr. Aldrees holds a D.Phil. in Inorganic Chemistry and a Master of Science in the same field from the University of Oxford, UK. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, he serves as the General Manager of the Water Desalination Technologies Institute at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), where he leads efforts to develop sustainable water desalination technologies, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s water security.
With over 23 years of experience in refining, petrochemicals, environmental sustainability, water, and energy, Dr. Aldrees has made significant contributions to scientific research. He has authored more than 22 research articles, holds four patents, and published one book, with a strong focus on advancing sustainable development through scientific innovation.

Mr. Pajooh holds a Ph.D. in Sanitary Engineering from Leibniz University Hannover, alongside degrees in Civil Engineering, an MBA, and expertise in Water and Environmental Management. With over a decade of experience in the water sector, he specializes in decentralized wastewater treatment systems, aeration technology, and biological wastewater treatment. Currently serving as the Process Development Manager at Jaeger Envirotech, Mr. Pajooh and his team have developed ShearCon® Process, which enables the transformation of conventional biomass into premium biomass without the use of chemicals. This premium biomass settles significantly faster, exhibits higher nitrification rates and enhances performance of wastewater treatment plants.

Dr. Shahab Shariat Torbaghan is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Smart Grids in Urban Energy and Water Systems at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), where he leads the Smart Water and Energy Transition & AI Lab. He is a senior member of IEEE and an active member of INFORMS.
Shahab holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, following degrees from Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Tehran. His expertise lies in modeling and optimizing water and energy infrastructure, with a focus on short-term operations and long-term investment decision-making under uncertainty. His research integrates renewable energy and explores synergies between water and energy systems, emphasizing technologies that connect the two sectors. He has contributed to multiple national and international projects on both applied and fundamental research initiatives."

Işıl Cinoğlu Gökyay is a highly experienced Environmental Process Engineer with 19 years of expertise in the water and wastewater industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Marmara University and has a strong background in process optimization, stakeholder management, and environmental solutions. She specializes in process design, proposal management, and execution of large-scale municipal and industrial treatment projects across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. As the Chief Process & Proposal Engineer at PWT Wasser-und Abwassertechnik GmbH, Işıl has led multidisciplinary teams, developed technical solutions, and managed tender preparation and cost estimation for complex infrastructure projects.
