Eng. Ali Issa Shamas was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Dhofar Power Company (Dhofar integrated services company) ( Nama Dhofar Services ) in 2012 following a long career in key industries. Prior to joining Nama Dhofar Services, Ali spent 17 years in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) as the Area Manager of Bahja and before that worked for NAM (Shell Holland) for 3 years as senior operation engineer in the North Sea Gas fields .  After his tenure in PDO, he joined the Port of Salalah for 7 years as General Manager General Cargo Terminal while part of his initial duties included managing HSSE activities for the first 3 years where one of his most significant contributions was reducing LTIs by 60% and implementing international standards of HSSE.

During his tenure as CEO of NDS. He led the company successfully from a concession agreement to a regulatory regime and during the merger of water and wastewater in addition to Electricity to be the only utility integrated services in the region. The company achieved sector awards in both Asset Management and Customers Service and achieved ISO 18001, ISO14001 and ISO55001 certifications.

Ali holds a BSc from the University of Washington I applied Math and an MSc from Sheffield Hallam University in Total Quality Management and Business Excellence. He also attended elite leadership courses including leading leaders (APM Terminals) and as well a graduate of the prestigious leadership academy INSEAD. He also previously was Chairman of Salalah Sanitary Drainage Service and currently board member in Marafiq utility company.
